Situated at the Southern entrance to California's grand San Joaquin Valley, Bakersfield is a convenient waystation for travelers passing through from Interstate 5 and 99 or the Mojave desert. If you are heading south it makes a great overnight stay close to LA while avoiding the traffic and congestion of that major metropolitan area. Heading north? The Travel Park is a great watering hole before you traverse the 300 miles of the Valley.

Hitch your wagon to our post, and lay in provisions for the road ahead! You'll find stores a'plenty in the greater Bakersfield area. And when you are ready to move on to points north or south, you'll appreciate the easy access to major freeways like Interstate 5 & 99. Scenic Lake Isabella is just a 37 mile jaunt up highway 178, and  other great parks like Sequioa and Yosemite are just a few hours north. To find us just take the Weedpatch exit (Hwy 184).
